Are you a new teaching artist?  Someone considering teaching in community settings as a way to sustain your creative life? This discussion will bring together three leaders in Philadelphia to share their journeys as teaching artist and practicing artists.

The session will include tips for building skills and networks, advice on finding work, and the important role teaching artists play in the Philadelphia cultural scene.

Invited Guests:

  • Community organization and leadership: Magda Martinez, poet, performer, and Director of Programs, Fleisher Art Memorial
  • Dance and theater/art and social justice: Jennifer Turnbull, multi-disciplinary artist, performer, teacher, and Associate Director of Programs, Spiral Q
  • Designing arts-based programs: Beth Pulcinella, printmaker, K-12 certified art educator, and Program Coordinator of the Artists in Schools Program, The Print Center
  • Facilitator: Beth Feldman Brandt, Executive Director, Stockton Rush Bartol Foundation

Participants will be offered access to additional free workshops at the Bartol Foundation.
